Design Intern
Position Description:
The Design Intern will execute the activities that make up the Design Process of a project in accordance with Office Interiors policies and procedures and in conjunction with the Design Manager. The focus being to gain practical experience by assisting Project Designers, Senior Project Designers, and Design Manager throughout the design process. They will demonstrate proficiency with current technology and software used by Office Interiors, as well as manufacturers represented by Office Interiors.
Responsibilities:
Primary Duties
- Meets with Designers to review scope of work, budgets and other qualifying information
- Work with team to develop timeline and deliverable due dates
- Follow-up with Designers on all project related tasks to ensure right path is taken for tasks
- Preparing specifications and completing drawings
- Researching products
- Learning Specification software
- Preparing presentation documents
- Assist in Upkeep of Design and Sales Library
Designs & Develops Furniture Floorplans and Interior Finishes
- Assists with typical drawings and research furniture needs as required by project scope
- Generates overall floorplan from approved typicals, confirming building dimensions and conditions as necessary
- Selects furniture and interior finish materials for review. Orders samples and confirms pertinent information
- Organizes finishes, plans, and any presentation materials for client presentations
- Participates in client meetings to present product and finish recommendations when appropriate
- Assist with the finalization of furniture and all finish selections
Generates Product Specifications
- Prepares furniture specifications and secures audits
- Reviews specifications and plans with Designers for approval
- Gathers and organizes all supporting documentation, freight quotes, installation quotes, COM information,
etc.
Provides Installation Plans and Documents and Assist with Project Management
- Prepares installation plan sets, and other documents required for the specific project
- Assists with all installation documents for the pre-install meeting
- Prepares finish installation plans and schedules and provides copies to appropriate parties
- Attends construction meetings with Designer when appropriate
- Assists with showroom tours during client visits
- Visits site during installation
Maintains Accurate Project Number and Time Records
- Enters time daily into current timekeeping system
- Maintains updated project logs and current project management tools
- Monitors actual design time versus estimated design time as a continuous improvement opportunity, and for billing opportunities
Maintain Design and Sales Libraries and General Showroom
- Files new literature and samples and order replacements as needed
- Reviews specific vendor samples with Reps
- Returns unused samples to vendors
- Maintains showroom set-up and update/change as needed
Job Qualifications
Experience/Education:
- Working towards Bachelor's degree from accredited (4) year university, architectural, or interior
design school - Completion of sophomore or junior year of study required
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Technical Proficiency: Strong basic knowledge of technological tools including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to learn new systems and programs
- Attention to Detail: Skilled at identifying problems and developing concepts into complete and accurate solutions. Can assess architectural and field conditions and understands or questions the interfaces between building systems and modular products
- Well organized time manager. Adept at prioritizing work and maintaining focus on multiple projects at one time. Willingness to learn established time management system
- Is self-motivated and consistently demonstrates initiative, drive and perseverance in achieving objectives. Willingness to learn established project management tools
- Ability to communicate ideas through drawings, plan view and detail, and digital media in a thoughtful yet compelling manner
- Strong team orientation and positive team player. Works well with others
- Must be sufficiently flexible and resourceful to cope with the time pressures and coordination
challenges inherent in the position - Responsive to all internal and external customer requests

Furniture Installation Technician

Vista Technologies Installation Technician
What you'll be doing
- Representing one of the area’s leaders in custom Audio Visual integration
- Using your knowledge of IT, AV and Telephony to install integrated technical systems
- Product staging, testing, organizing, and prefabricating
- Training to become skilled at control systems design, programming, and commissioning, if required
- Coordinating with our Project Manager and interfacing with our clients and trades

Your qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience
- Two years experience in multiple disciplines including AV, IT, VoIP, networking, commercial audio & video
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, addressing, firewalls, routers, vlans and VPN
- Solid understanding and experience with integrated operating systems
- Ability to read and understand technical documentation & schematics
- Installation, cable pulling, field terminations, system commissioning, audio DSP configuration, programming, etc.
