What drew you to start working with Office Interiors?

A blind interview led me to Office Interiors! I had a great interview with the management team, who knew people I knew. I inquired with our mutual connections for references on that management team, and they had nothing but positive reviews. It was a perfect fit!

Can you briefly describe your role and responsibilities as a staff accountant?

I assist my co-workers with questions or issues related to Khameleon, our software for purchasing, receiving, and delivery. I also help our controller, the chief accounting officer, with month-end closing duties, bank reconciliations, commission calculations, and back-up payables and receivables duties.

What inspired you to pursue a career in accounting?

I started numerically filing invoices as a child on the floor of my mother’s controller office. It kept me out of trouble while she completed monthly financials on Saturdays. I guess I have always been a numbers person!

What is your favorite aspect of working at Office Interiors?

There is always something new to learn, fix, or research. We work as a team, which transcends the barriers of departments. It’s great to brainstorm and collaborate with colleagues who think differently and come up with great ideas. There’s certainly a work-family attitude. I love the people I work with.

How do you approach planning and implementing new tasks?

I jump in headfirst! There is no task too big, too small, or too menial for me. I enjoy the challenge of treasure hunting for answers!

Outside of work, what are some hobbies or interests that you enjoy pursuing?

I’m a crafty person. Whether it’s working with epoxy, sewing, or upcycling décor, I enjoy being creative. I also have a passion for gardening and cooking!

Are there any interesting facts that you’d like to share about yourself?

I love to travel and go on cruises. I have been on 18 cruises and enjoy going to Europe to visit the Christmas markets.
